My absolute favourite bakery in the world is “bricolage bread & co.”, located along Keyakizaka in Roppongi👑 This popular spot is a collaboration between three talents: Chef @namaesan from the three-Michelin-starred @leffervescence, Ayumu Iwanaga of the renowned bakery @sucre_kitashinchi in Osaka, and Kenji Kojima from the specialty coffee shop @fuglentokyo☕️

The “Jerk Chicken Bagel Sandwich” is a new addition to their lunch menu, featuring the most tender and juicy Tamba-Kurodori chicken🐓 It's tucked into their signature chewy house-made bagel and served with crisp celery, carrot râpée, pickled cucumbers, and a walnut and peanut mayonnaise🥜 If there’s a queue for indoor or terrace seating, I recommend ordering it to-go and enjoying it on a bench at Mohri Garden in @roppongihillsofficial🌳

Located along the quiet banks of the Takase River in Kyoto, “Washoku San” offers an elegant escape from the bustle of central Kyoto and downtown Shijo🍃 Housed in a beautifully restored historic “Machiya” townhouse, this refined space focuses on showcasing the best seasonal ingredients sourced from across Japan, with a special emphasis on Kyoto’s local produce🌸

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel @genjikyoto - highlights of the course included the perfectly crisp tempura (as seen in the cover photo), and their fragrant handmade soba (buckwheat noodles) served at the end of the meal as the perfect finale🥢 Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and served on an impressive collection of antique tableware, and we will most certainly be back!🏺

Signature dishes include the delicately crafted “Braised Pork Belly” presented in the shape of a pyramid, and the “Sautéed River Shrimps” with noodles created in the shape of Longjing tea leaves🍃 Each dish beautifully showcases the rich culinary heritage of the region - this was hands down the best meal we had during our visit to Hangzhou!🙌

Omotesando’s popular vegan café “THE_B” opened a new location in Nakameugo in December🎊 The flagship store is so popular that its signature açaí bowl requires a ticket system, but l visited the spacious Nakameguro branch on a weekday afternoon with @qoothepomchi and was able to order the much-anticipated “Açaí Beauty Bowl” without a wait🙌 The vibrant fruit bowl was topped with coconut chips, strawberries, granola, cacao nibs, and goji berries 🍫

My go-to salad spot, @happyhour_2020, closed at the end of the year, leaving me temporarily lost for lunch options🥲 Lately, however, I discovered the “Lettuce Wrap” at their sister restaurant, “Burger Mania”👑 It offers the same variety of delicious burger flavours, but instead of buns, everything is wrapped in crisp, fresh lettuce, cutting down on calories in the best way💪 Swap the fries for a salad, and you have an even healthier meal 🌿 With monthly flavours and dog-friendly seats, I can’t wait to visit again with @qoothepomchi 🐾

Tucked inside a beautifully restored historical kominka (traditional Japanese house) from the Meiji era, “Kamakura Kitahashi” opened its doors in June 2024🎉 Specialising in handcrafted soba made from meticulously selected buckwheat sourced across Japan, this charming restaurant offers an unparalleled soba dining experience✨

We shared their signature “Soba Tasting Set”, featuring buckwheat varieties from Akagi in Gunma, Narita in Chiba, and Yamagata Village in Nagano🍜 Alongside, we savoured their flavourful “Dashimaki” Japanese rolled omelette and desserts crafted with soba flour🍳 Next time, I am excited to visit their café next door, which serves single-origin coffee from @the_roastery_by_nozycoffee🤎
